The Atkinson’s: On an Ode to Jon Halle

Jon Halle was a very special man
At home or work, he always had a plan
For family and friends alike
Jon knew what all would like
For the family it’s swimming, music, dance and school
For Jon knew these were important tools

But most important was the love he shared
In the endless ways he showed he cared
To his family and friends he gave the gift of glee
While embracing life so merrily

Jon was also a community man
Building his neighborhood any way he can
He served on the neighborhood Board with grace
So others would enjoy this place
You could often see him at the pool, working the crowd
Cheering his kids and the neighborhood out loud

Jon was a smart man, you see
And he cherished technology
Some would say he found a better way
Frequently surfing e-Bay

He is gone and it’s such a bitter pill
He leaves a void that’s hard to fill
We find comfort knowing that we met
And appreciate the fine example he set
Jon would have us go on without a fuss
With thoughts of him close to us
Warming our hearts

It’s hard to sum up such a special guy
He made such a mark and, yet, we ask “Why?”
But we are fortunate to have known this man
And we thank him for the memories that will always stand.
