Things Daddy Loved: Fantasy Football

Sam: On Roy D. Mercer
You could call them the original Phone Tap…
Daddy LOVED Roy D. Mercer’s comedic phone call pranks. The humor was just up his alley to the point that he purchased CD compilation after CD compilation. Vulgar or not, we’d often listen to a few of these “greatest fits” on the drive to school in the morning—you know, to wake us up.
P.S. How big a boy are ya?

Helen Carter: On a proud father
What a neat man. When I think of Jon, I think of a happy man. Always smiling, always there with a warm hello, a great joke or story but mainly always there. I can not think of any school event when Jon was not present. How he loved his children! He was so proud of all their accomplishments and thrilled to partake in all aspects of their lives. One always got the impression that he participated because he genuinely wanted to! Oh, the proud father when his little Dane was born. He loved sharing his wonderful stories of his wonderful children, and we loved hearing them. What a great dad!
What a great husband he seemed to be. It was obvious to us all that he truly adored Lisa. The way he looked at her! The way he spoke of her! They truly were a gr8cupl!
A couple things also come immediately to mind…
- Jon – Always with a video camera.
- Jon – Always willing to share his camera and pictures with those of us who forgot.
- Jon – Always interested in all the children and all our proud parent stories.
- Jon – Jovial and full of life.
- Jon – Always made you feel good and smile!
Our entire family enjoyed the time we spent with Jon.
