Julie Adler Noyes: On Jon as a parent
Mrs. Noyes, originally a teacher at Extended Day, was the St. Catherine’s lower school art teacher. I spent a great deal of time in the art room in the mornings before school and frequently dragged Daddy in to see my most recent work. Mrs. Noyes wrote this “Tribute to Jon” for his Memorial Service
You were always there
At every event in their lives
Arriving early
Gladly giving your time
As they were giving moments to you
Memories shared, lasting
You were always there
The big man holding his small child’s hand
Not rushing through carpool
Instead parking and walking inside
To see that special guinea pig
While holding the small hand
Listening to your child’s voice
You were always there
Calming the sobs and tears
Putting a bandage on the scraps and bruises
Making the moment better, less painful
Bringing the smiles back again
You were always there
Working with the teachers
Never distant, but visible
Encouraging the best in those around you
You will always be here
Front and center
In the best seat
Smiling, encouraging, loving
At every concert and play
Your spirit will live on
A standing ovation for a life well lived
The Report: On the budgeteer
Sam: On heat sheets
Daddy was far from stingy when it came to shelling out the $5 or $10 for a heat sheet, and boy was he possessive of this piece of swim meet gold.
Immediately, he’d mark up the heat sheet – highlighting my events, Joelle’s events and all of our friends’ events, regardless of whether or not they were on Dolphin Club. He’d jot down a master itinerary on the front of the heat sheet (as you see here), and only then could Joelle and I Sharpie our events onto our hands. From that point forward, that stapled pack did not leave his hands. Intense as ever, he’d wear two stopwatches around his neck to time each of us. As you can see, he diligently marked down each our our times!

Jon: On I love you when…
Daddy listed 200+ moments when he loves mom. They’ll be shared throughout the year.
I love you when…
- You look at me and close your eyes like Spice (Spice was Daddy’s cat)
- You try to wink
- You say “poifect”
- You run your fingers through my hair
- You stroke my beard
- You make chocolate pudding for me
- You share an insight
- You take my arm
- You hold my hand
Billy Greer: On Jon
It has been said by many that Lisa and Jon were a great couple and it was always agreed. Jon’s wit, humor and intelligence will be missed by us all. The PM family has lost not only a great friend but also a tremendous asset.
