Daddy played trombone growing up. One of his favorite band stories to recount was the time he was playing a set on bleachers for a game. He made the mistake of getting a little too into his performance and accidentally slid the slide right out of the trombone. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he dropped the slide only to have it fall below the bleachers! Because so many of his bandmates were packed onto each bleacher row, there was no way for him to bend over to try to recover. Instead, he had to stand there for the remainder of the performance as his band director shook his head.
